Rua XV de Novembro pedestrian area in central Curitiba
In ten weeks’ time I will be leaving the UK and settling in Curitiba, capital of Paraná state, South Brazil.
In this blog I will be sharing my insights into life in one of the fastest developing countries in the world, and one of the biggest countries in the world – as an outsider – a ‘gringo’ (foreigner).
I first came to Brazil in January 2011 – visiting Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and Foz do Iguaçu (Paraná state), all of which made an incredible impression on me.
Five months later I’m returning for much longer. First task: learn Portuguese properly.
In the few weeks that remain, I am concentrating on enjoying everything London has to offer – because pretty soon, things are changing…
Follow me on my journey from July 2011.
